About this job :
Read this before you scroll. It might save you a year of your life.
If you're a new grad, you're probably about to sign with one of the chains. The signing bonus looks good. The "mentorship program" sounds structured. The recruiter is nice.
Twelve months from now, you'll be treating 3 patients at a time, doing 90 minutes of documentation after close, hitting a units-per-visit target written by someone who hasn't touched a patient since 2014, and wondering if you picked the wrong career.
You didn't pick the wrong career. You picked the wrong clinic.
Who we are
Total Performance Physical Therapy is an independently owned outpatient practice with six clinics across the Philadelphia suburbs — Dublin, Hatfield, North Wales, East Norriton, Harleysville, and Horsham. We were built around one stubborn idea: patients should be treated like family, and the clinicians treating them should be free to do their actual job.
Each clinic runs as a small, tight team — you'll know every colleague, every front desk staffer, and most of your patients by name. But because we're six sites strong, you also get the benefit of a wider clinical brain trust: when you hit a case you've never seen, somebody across the practice has.
That sounds like every other clinic's "About Us" page. So here's what it means in real terms:
- Our PTs see 8–10 patients per day, one-on-one, full session. Not "mostly 1-on-1." Not "1-on-1 when possible." Actually 1-on-1.
- We don't use techs to run treatments. Your hands stay on the patient.
- There is no non-compete. If you ever decide to leave, you can keep practicing in your community. That's a clause we'd never ask a colleague to sign.
What a real day looks like here
You arrive. You have your schedule and your patients — the same patients, week over week, so you actually see them get better. Some early starts and some later finishes because we serve real people with real jobs (no weekends).
You spend the full session with each patient. You provide manual-therapy, you load them, you coach them, you progress them. When a case gets interesting, you grab a colleague — not a Slack DM, an actual conversation in the clinic. Your home clinic is a small team where everyone knows everyone's caseload. And when you hit something outside your wheelhouse, you've got five other clinics' worth of experienced clinicians a phone call away.
Last quarter, one of our team cleared a high school athlete to return to soccer 6 months after an ACL reconstruction — full strength, full confidence, no hedge. The kind of return-to-sport progression you don't get to run when you're juggling 3 patients on a 30-minute grid.
Pick your specialty. Build your career on purpose.
Most PTs don't get to choose what they grow into. The chain tells you what your caseload looks like, and your interests get sanded down until you forget you had them.
We do it the opposite way. You pick a specialty track and we build mentorship around it:
- Orthopedic / Manual Therapy — hands-on, evidence-based, fellowship-track if you want it
- Sports & Performance — return-to-play, performance training, athlete progressions
- Pelvic Health — pelvic floor (women's and men's), pre/post-partum
- Vestibular / Neuro — vestibular rehab, concussion, neuro caseload
- Aquatic Therapy — full aquatic program, not an afterthought
If you don't know which one yet, that's fine. We'll help you figure it out.
Compensation & benefits (the part the chains bury at the bottom)
- Competitive base salary + performance bonus structure
- CEU stipend plus paid time to attend continuing education
- Health, dental, and vision insurance
- 401(k) with employer match
- Generous PTO and paid holidays (real PTO — not "unlimited" PTO that nobody can use)
- No non-compete
Who we're looking for
We don't have a "years of experience" requirement. We have a values requirement.
You're our person if:
- You believe PT is a hands-on profession and you want to keep it that way
- You'd rather get one patient fully better than push three of them through a protocol
- You're curious. You read. You ask questions in the hallway.
- You can disagree with a colleague respectfully and still go to lunch with them
- You treat patients like you'd want your mom or your kid treated
You're probably not our person if:
- You want the biggest signing bonus you can find
- You want to be left alone all day
- You're looking for a place to coast
Compensation: $80,000.00 - $100,000.00 per year
(if you already have a resume on Indeed)
